Important Notes:
- *If the scholar currently or previously held J-1/J-2 status, they must submit copies of all DS-2019s and any documentation certifying the scholar is not subject to the two-year home physical presence requirement.
- Any documents in a foreign language must come with an English translation and a certificate of accuracy (PDF).
- A professional credential evaluation for any foreign diploma/transcript may be required by the US Consulate at the visa interview or by USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services) if a petition is filed. ISSS recommends that if the degree was earned outside the US, the scholar obtain a professional credential evaluation attesting to the validity and equivalency to a US degree. Scholars may choose any evaluation company they prefer, but ISSS provides a list of credential evaluation companies that Emory international scholars have used in the past for new scholars' convenience.
