From Admission to Arrival: An Overview for New International Students
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) would like to be congratulate all newly admitted international students on their admission to Emory. International students are an integral part of Emory University’s global community, and the ISSS team cannot wait to welcome the next group of students from all over the world to Emory's Atlanta campus.
Once admitted to Emory, one of the next steps for many international students is determining whether they require immigration sponsorship from Emory. If so, the student will need to follow the "Post-Admission Steps for F-1 and J-1 Students" listed below. If sponsorship is not required, ISSS can still act as a valuable resource. Read on to learn how!
Students who plan to study at Emory in F-1 or J-1 status will request either Form I-20 (F-1) or Form DS-2019 (J-1) from ISSS. For some new international students, the process of requesting an I-20/DS-2019, applying for a F-1/J-1 visa and arriving in the US seems daunting. However, there is no need to worry. ISSS is here to help!
