Oxford Graduates
I-20 Transfer to the Atlanta Campus
Welcome to the Atlanta Campus!
Welcome to the Emory University Atlanta Campus! ISSS is excited to welcome Oxford graduates to Atlanta to continue their Emory experience. This webpage has been created for Oxford graduates to provide next steps and resources to ease their transition to the Atlanta campus. Feel free reach out to ISSS with any questions. ISSS is here to help!
Requesting a Transfer Pending I-20
When transitioning to the Atlanta campus, Oxford graduates will also need to transfer their SEVIS record. After their Oxford graduation is confirmed and the final day of classes has passed for the semester, Oxford's International Student Programs office will transfer their SEVIS records to the Atlanta campus. At that point, Oxford graduates will need an updated I-20 from the Atlanta campus to show that they are maintaining their F-1 status.
After they have applied for graduation from the Oxford campus, they will receive an email from ISSS in Atlanta. This email will instruct Oxford graduates to log in to ISSS Link and complete their transfer I-20 request. ISSS encourages students to submit their request as soon as they receive these instructions. When completing the request, students will be asked to provide their local address and upload financial documents and an updated copy of their passport (if needed). Visit ISSS' Financial Requirements and Sponsor Form page for more information.
Once the I-20 request has been approved and the SEVIS record has been transferred, Oxford graduates will receive a "Transfer Pending I-20" from the Atlanta campus. Note: The SEVIS record can only be transferred to the Atlanta campus after the semester has ended, but the request should be submitted in ISSS Link prior to graduation. Students who plan to travel outside the US after their Oxford graduation must have the "Transfer Pending I-20" from the Atlanta campus before returning to the United States.
Students with questions about the I-20 transfer process can email the Atlanta campus' ISSS office at newfjstudent@emory.edu. Alternatively, they can make an appointment with a member of the ISSS I-20 issuance team.
Meet Your ISSS Advisor
On the Atlanta campus, ISSS advisors are assigned alphabetically by last name. After obtaining their "Transfer Pending I-20," Oxford graduates will receive an introductory email from their ISSS advisor. Students can also use ISSS' Find Your Student Advisor page to find their advisor's contact information and/or make an appointment.
